Hertfordshire County Council employees have raised over £2,000 for Breast Cancer Campaign.

Staff at Hertfordshire County Council wore an item of pink and gave a donation of £2 each to support the Breast Cancer Campaign's 'Wear it Pink' event.

Teams based at Hertfordshire County Council sites took part including Herts Highways, Adult Care Services, Children, Schools and Families, Environment, Youth Connexions, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Finance and Facilities teams.

Gift Aid forms were filled out on the day, so that 28p for every pound donated can be claimed back by Breast Cancer Campaign, which could amount to an extra £560.

Other fundraising activities included pink cake stalls and raffles.

The money raised will go to Breast Cancer Campaign who will use the donations to fund innovative, world-class research throughout the UK to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure.
