Consultation into Herts traffic

Posted by news desk in Local News, 29th May 2008, 12:43pm

Residents are being asked for their views on a new transport strategy for Watford and South West Herts.

Local councils and others are working together to reduce the impact of traffic and tackle congestion to improve travel in the area.

It is twelve years since the South West Herts Transportation Strategy was first introduced. This provided a package of integrated transport measures designed to reduce traffic, for example, with traffic calming schemes and pedestrian only zones.

With growth and development in south west Hertfordshire taking place, the transport strategy is being updated to combat increased congestion.

Residents now have the opportunity to contribute towards the consultation that is taking place on the new transport strategy. If you have a view on transport in Watford, then register your comments on the proposals by Tuesday 17 June.

A copy of the full review together with the supporting information is available at the Town Hall and on the Hertfordshire County Council website (www.hertscc.gov.uk).
