Spokes, the South West Herts Cycling Group, has launched a new booklet to encourage Watford residents to make use of Watford’s green spaces and to explore the wide range of cycle rides and routes that are across the county.

The booklet contains 21 attractive local rides that offer a varying selection of distances from three to fifty miles in length, so as to cater for all ages and abilities.

Councillor Jan Brown (pictured front right) chairman at Watford Borough Council, said: “There is a wealth of varied and interesting cycle rides and routes in Watford and the surrounding area that are opened up for all by this excellent guide.
“Watford Borough Council is very pleased to be able to help fund the guide through the Mayor’s Community Fund which is available to encourage community groups to participate in projects that contribute to making Watford a town to be proud of where public and local spaces are smart, clean, safe and accessible,” Ms Brown added.

The guide was joint funded by the mayor’s Community Fund, Watford Borough Council Planning Department and the Watling Chase Community Forest and Countryside Management Service.

The booklet is available to be downloaded at the Spokes website, which can be found at www.spokesgroup.com.
