Post Office closure across South Herts?

Posted by news desk in Local News, 20th June 2008, 1:11pm

A total of seven Post Offices in south Herts' areas of Watford, Rickmansworth and Bushey have been earmarked for closure.

And across the UK, the Post Office network will be reduced by up to 2,500 branches from its current level of more than 14,000 branches.

The minimum access criteria outlined by the Government means 99 per cent of the UK population must be within three miles and 90 per cent of the population must be within one mile of their nearest Post Office outlet.

The six-week public consultation period begins today, June 17, and all representations should be received by July 28.
