Are you ready for a challenge in Herts?
The organisers of the Harpenden Lions Highland Gathering are offering local people the chance to try the traditional Highland Gathering Heavy Events, Tossing the Caber, Throwing the Weights and Putting the Stone.
Participants need to enter as a team of four which can be made up from local sports teams, pub teams, friends, work colleagues etc. The event is being held on Sunday 13th July from 10am to 5.45pm in Rothamsted Park, Harpenden.
The idea is to have fun and have the rare opportunity for English people to try Scottish events. Prizes will be on offer!
Additionally a Tug of War competition will be taking place; again local teams are invited to apply.
Anyone interested in joining in the fun should call the Lions Help Line on 0845 833 7426 or e-mail info@harplions.com
